The RYA Race Coach Development team are excited to offer RYA Race Coaches the opportunity to attend practical coach development experiences this autumn. These one-day programmes will be available at multiple venues and will be open to Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 Race Coaches.
What will these days include?
At each workshop an RYA race coach Tutor will discuss, demonstrate, and support participating coaches to practice a selection of activities that can be used to help sailors enjoy developing their racing skills.
The day will be about sharing ideas that will help race coaches to deliver great learning experiences.
The on-water practical activities will include:
Problem-setting exercises: Training exercises that will help sailors to learn through their own experiences.
Deliberate play activities: Using games and play on the water that will help sailors to learn and improve their racing skills.
Decision-making scenarios: Supporting sailors to become independent and confident in making strategic and tactical decisions.
The practical days are supported by the following venues:
Ripon Sailing Club - 1st of October.
