About the course: 

 

The RYA National Judge course is focused on equipping attendees with the knowledge and skills on rules and hearings needed at national events. It is a step up from Regional Judge and the second qualification rung on the ladder to International Judge.

 

Attendees will take part in mock hearings, and develop the skills to chair hearings and write decisions, to focus on the key rules that determine the decision, and to ask questions of sailors and their witnesses. 

Attendance on the course meets one of the requirements for an initial appointment as an RYA National Judge. The other requirements for the qualification are listed here on the RYA Website.

Cancellation Policy

Payment: The full course fee is payable at the time of the booking.  A space on the course will only be confirmed once you have completed the online booking form and paid the fee. We do not accept provisional bookings. 

Cancellation by the applicant: If less than 2 weeks notice is given, that you are unable to attend the course, you will unfortunately not receive a refund. However, if we are able to replace your booking on the course, then we will offer you a refund, or transfer you to an alternative course.  

Cancellation by the RYA: The full course fee, including any deposit will be returned. The RYA will not be liable under any circumstances for any cost or loss incurred as a result of its failure to conduct a particular course. The RYA reserves the right to cancel any course in the event of bad weather, equipment failure or otherwise.
