About the course: 

This course is the first step towards gaining an RYA National Umpire qualification, but will also be of interest to anyone aiming to learn more about umpiring in general. A pre-requisite for this course is that you have completed the RYA Introduction to Umpiring or have already some umpiring experience. This course will have a Match racing focus but exams will be available in Match, Team or Fleet racing. 

 

Please ensure you are familiar with the Racing Rules of Sailing and Guidance Notes and the Umpire qualifications requirements that are on the RYA website here.

Cancellation Policy

Payment: The full course fee is payable at the time of the booking.  A space on the course will only be confirmed once you have completed the online booking form and paid the fee. We do not accept provisional bookings. 

Cancellation by the applicant: If less than 2 weeks notice is given, that you are unable to attend the course, you will unfortunately not receive a refund. However, if we are able to replace your booking on the course, then we will offer you a refund, or transfer you to an alternative course.  

Cancellation by the RYA: The full course fee, including any deposit will be returned. The RYA will not be liable under any circumstances for any cost or loss incurred as a result of its failure to conduct a particular course. The RYA reserves the right to cancel any course in the event of bad weather, equipment failure or otherwise.
