RYA Regional Race Officer Course via Zoom

Time/dates: 7.30 - 9.30 pm on  Tuesday 9th, Wednesday 10th and Tuesday 16th November.

About the Regional Race Officer Course: 

This course is for those interested in Race Management and wish to expand their knowledge, with some experience preferred, but not compulsory.


You will need to be familiar with the Race Management Guide, as well as the Racing Rules of Sailing 2021-2024.

The course will involve viewing a number of pre-course modules beforehand, with a final short quiz to complete, to ensure your understanding of the topics. You must score 10/10 on this quiz to allow you to attend the course. You can re-take the quiz as many times as you need, until you pass, and the quiz is not timed.

 

At the end of the course, you will also complete an online exam. This exam result and course attendance will fulfill one of the requirements to be appointed as a RYA Regional Race Officer. The other RRO requirements can be found on our website. 

As the course will be delivered via Zoom, please make sure to have a laptop/tablet to access, with a working microphone and camera, and strong internet connection to access Zoom.


Once signed up, you will be contacted in due course regarding the pre-course modules, how to access the course, and any further information.

Cancellation Policy

Payment: The full course fee is payable at the time of the booking.  A space on the course will only be confirmed once you have completed the online booking form and paid the fee. We do not accept provisional bookings. 

Cancellation by the applicant: If less than 2 weeks notice is given, that you are unable to attend the course, you will unfortunately not receive a refund. However, if we are able to replace your booking on the course, then we will offer you a refund, or transfer you to an alternative course.  

Cancellation by the RYA: The full course fee, including any deposit will be returned. The RYA will not be liable under any circumstances for any cost or loss incurred as a result of its failure to conduct a particular course. The RYA reserves the right to cancel any course in the event of bad weather, equipment failure or otherwise.
